Laura Reeves of Prairie Shore Botanicals will be our guide. Laura will walk with us through the village sharing her knowledge about wild plants (aka weeds) and usefulness.
Laura Reeves, founder of Prairie Shore Botanicals, regularly shares her passion for wild edibles and wilderness skills through courses, workshops and guided plant walks. She is a botanist with over 20 years experience and received her BSc. (Botany) from the University of Manitoba in 1997.
Laura is the author of “Laura Reeves’ Guide to Useful Plants – From Acorns to Zoom Sticks” which includes fun descriptions of Laura’s experiences with over 60 Manitoba plants and mushrooms, and recipes. She is also the maker of Manitoba’s own “Sap ‘n’ Salvy” healing salve, which combines the antimicrobial and healing properties of balsam poplar leaf buds and white spruce sap.
